Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy, often referred to as cranial sacral therapy or simply CST, is a holistic and alternative therapeutic approach that focuses on the manipulation and balance of the craniosacral system within the body.
The craniosacral system includes the cerebrospinal fluid, the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord (known as the meninges), and the bones of the skull and spine (particularly the cranial bones and the sacrum). Craniosacral therapists believe that gentle, hands-on techniques can improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and alleviate various physical and emotional issues.
Craniosacral therapy is used for a wide range of conditions and concerns, including:
Chronic pain: It may help alleviate conditions like migraines, back pain, and fibromyalgia.
Stress and anxiety: Some people find craniosacral therapy to be relaxing and stress-reducing.
Emotional and psychological issues: It can be used to address emotional trauma or improve emotional well-being.
Infant and pediatric issues: Craniosacral therapy is sometimes used to treat newborns and children with conditions like colic, sleep issues, and developmental delays.
Orthopedic and musculoskeletal issues: It may be used to support recovery from injuries or surgery.
